Evaluation Question 7
Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to the full product?
One of my main things that i have learnt from the progress of my preliminary task to my overall product is how to use Photoshop effectively and its tools. I have learnt how to enlarge photos, blend texts/images and make my magazine more effective to its genre. I also learnt how to chose and change the colours i wanted to help it fit my genre of Reggae.

Evaluation Question 6
What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?
One of the tools I used quite frequently was the lasso tool to help me get quite neat and close cut of my images so it would help me to move them around and change them to how I wanted onto my backgrounds, the quick selection tool was also used while doing these processes. I also used the marquee tool which helped me create the many different shapes on my magazine.
I used the tools for the texts such as changing the strength (bold), different fonts, colour, height and the different styles of writing. This was done to my feature stories and mast heads as they were all different to each other to help them stand out and to stand out against each other.
I also used the blending tool on my magazine for the images and texts. For example, I used a lot of drop shadows on my texts to help stand out. Another tool I used quite often was the stroke tool on the text mostly. This was to help them stand out against others and against the background to help draw the readers attention.

Evaluation Question 5
How did you attract/address your audience?
To help attract my audience I used a plug on my front cover including a famous reggae band that would help attract the readers attention and would make them more interested in winning. Such as on my plug it is to win tickets to see the reggae band 'Jah Roots' which is very relevant to my target audience and fits my chosen magazine genre so people are then more likely to go for that imparticular magazine for the plug. I also used some of my audiences feedback to help me decide what to use and put on my magazine to help make sure that it would fit my target audience and will then make it seem more interesting for the audiences. I chose what bands/artists and feature stories where going to be based on in my genre and target audience to help attract them because if it was about the bands/artists they where interested in they are then more likely to buy the magazine. Also I made my price quite average and cheap to attract the audience as it would be something they could actually afford/buy and enjoy.

Evaluation Question 4
Who would be the audience for your media product?
My chosen target audience is for male reggae fans and just in general reggae music fans which are the most typical audience for a reggae magazine. The use of my reader profile shows clearly who the target audiences are.
This shows the audience being males as they are much greater then females and also the percentage of students is another greatest against people who have jobs, showing that on average the audience is students and that age group which shows what price I should make my magazine product to be suitable for who the audience is, help trying to recreate a male based audience.
The images I used on my reader profile were to help recreate things that my audience of reggae male fans would be able to relate to in some way, as they're things that people that age, class and genre are interested in and are used to show what kind of audience I am trying to target with my product.
I also produced questions to find out things about the readers and what they were interested in just to help see who my audience would be for my own media piece. The questions I created helped show who the target audience age would be as the questions are all around the similar age group and class help showing that the audience is around the male/student age and working class which is my chosen audience. It also showed the kind of conventions from current magazines that I should use to get the same type of target audience that they have as that's the same audineces that I would like. The answers that I received for the question 'Who are your favourite reggae artist/bands?' shows what feature stories I could include in my product to get my target audience as they are the kind of artists/bands my audience is interested in and would want to read.

Evaluation Question 3
What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?
A media institution that might distribute my media product is immediate Media Company which distributes magazines such as 'Reggae Times' which is one of the most popular music magazines of reggae also the magazine that I based many of my conventions on for my own personal reggae magazine. This might help publish my media product as they already have that type of reader audience from the publishing of other magazines within the same genre magazine so audiences would know what to expect in them.
